Kaohsiung Opto-Electronics (KOE), a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan Display Inc (JDI), was formed in 2012 to advance the design, development and manufacture of market leading TFT LCD display modules previously established by Hitachi. KOE is justifiably proud of inheriting an established LCD heritage. Over 35 years ago, as an early pioneer of LCD technology, Hitachi developed and produced simple character and dot matrix displays. More recently the development and introduction of in-plane-switching (IPS) wide viewing angle technology reiterated Hitachi’s commitment to providing display excellence. Continued investment in R&D will ensure that KOE stays at the forefront of evolving and ground breaking LCD technology.
